Bringing paediatric kidney research together
The symposium brings together people working in paediatric nephrology and related fields, from PhD candidates and clinicians to research partners and organisations.
The programme combines research updates, discussion and collaboration around one shared ambition: improving kidney care and treatment for children.
Keynote by Prof. dr. Moin Saleem
Prof. dr. Moin Saleem, Professor of Paediatric Renal Medicine at the University of Bristol and founder of Purespring Therapeutics, will open the symposium.
His keynote will explore how a better understanding of the mechanisms behind kidney disease can help identify potential new treatments.
Research, collaboration and young talent
During the afternoon, the four Kidnie Moonshot teams will share progress across cure, care, transplant care and slowing disease progression.
Participants will also help shape the development of the Kidnie Biobank during an interactive working session. Early-career researchers will have the opportunity to present their work and compete for the first Kidnie Young Investigator Award.

The First International Kidnie Symposium takes place on Thursday 26 November 2026, from 13.00 to 17.30 CET, followed by drinks, at Amsterdam UMC, location AMC.
