Abstract submissions are now open for the Kidnie Young Investigator Award, part of the First International Kidnie Symposium in Amsterdam. Early-career researchers active in the field of paediatric nephrology are invited to submit their work.

The award is open to PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers and researchers up to five years after obtaining their PhD, calculated on the date of the symposium, 26 November 2026.

The First International Kidnie Symposium will take place on 26 November 2026 at Amsterdam UMC. The Kidnie Young Investigator Award gives early-career researchers the opportunity to present their research and discuss their work with others in the field.

Accepted abstracts will be selected for either an oral presentation or poster presentation. The most promising early-career researchers will be invited to present their work orally. The Kidnie Young Investigator Award winner will be selected from among these oral presenters, based on their presentations.

Is the research a fit?

Abstracts can relate to one of the four Kidnie Moonshots:

  • Cure

  • Care

  • Transplant Care

  • Slowing Disease Progression

Research related to Kidnie Infrastructure can also be submitted.

Abstracts must be written in English, must not exceed 300 words and must not have been published previously. The presenting author is expected to attend the symposium in person and must also register for the symposium.

All submissions will be reviewed by the Abstract Selection Committee. The corresponding author will be informed of the outcome by 31 October 2026.
